Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition
The Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition is a non-profit agency, founded in 1989 with the support of the United Way of Greater St. Louis.
At our agency we do two things:
1. Recruitment: We are one of the area’s largest recruiter of foster/adoptive homes because of our partnerships with the local media, including KSDK and 13 local newspapers.
2. Resource Center: Foster and adoptive parenting is a rewarding—but demanding—job. We offer many supports to parents, including support groups, training, advocacy, newsletters, two resale shops, crisis intervention services, and our Little Wishes program.
The Coalition consists of 30 member agencies, including the area’s most-respected public and private agencies. Our staff is made up of foster/adoptive parents and child welfare professionals with a broad range of expertise. As a non-profit, 501(c)(3) agency, we are overseen by a Board of Directors. The board is made up of a variety of corporate and child welfare representatives, many of whom are foster/adoptive parents.
A Day Just for Marnae!
Marnae doesn't get that special one-on-one attention that she deserves. Being pampered like a princess for just one day will give her a memory that will last a lifetime. Meeting Miss Missouri would be a wonderful experience for Marnae - enabling her to speak with someone who will teach her that when you shoot for your dreams and work hard, anything is possible!
Marnae, 14, is a very sweet young lady who loves attention. Marnae loves sports and especially enjoys football, track and field, and basketball. She is excited to be starting on a basketball team soon. Like many girls her age, Marnae enjoys going shopping, listening to music and watching movies. She loves clothes and enjoys the latest styles. Marnae is in the 9th grade, but prefers sports to school. Marnae is very loyal to her friends and loved ones and would do almost anything for someone she cares about. Though she does not have contact with them, Marnae yearns for her biological siblings who have all been adopted. Marnae would like to maintain contact with her siblings, if possible. Marnae would do well in an active family that is able to give her a lot of one-on-one attention. She wants a family that she can call her own, but is fearful of rejection. Marnae needs a family that will be able to advocate for her educational needs and will not give up on her.
